SWITZERLAND

With stunning scenery, pretty villages and plenty of places to see, Switzerland is a place I’ve returned to on many occasions with different tour groups.
Switzerland’s highest point is in the Monte Rosa massif, the Dafour Peak, reaches 15,200 feet, (4-634m). The lakes of Geneva, Lucerne, Lugano and Maggiore are great place to visit as well as Interlaken where I’ve led many tours during my visits to Switzerland.
It’s a country well known for its trains, with their time keeping to the minute. My favorite, is the “Glacier Express”, whether its summer or winter, the scenery is fantastic, making everyone wanting to return over and over again.

SAAS FEE

Saas fee has been nicknamed the “Pearl of the Alps”; it’s an attractive resort in a magnificent setting. Motor traffic is forbidden and the only way to get the visitors and our luggage to the hotel is either by walking or by electric vehicle.
The first thing you notice is how clean the air is, how extra clean the streets are, as Switzerland is well known for its cleanliness, and also how quiet it is, just the sound of people, horse-drawn carriages and electric vehicles that are so quiet they have small bells that ring as the trucks move across the cobbled streets.

INTERLAKEN

This is a really well known resort and one I have escorted tours to on a number of occasions. It’s situated between the lakes of Thun and Brienz, the main street is the Hoheweg and is lined by trees. It’s always busy in Interlaken with people coming by car, coach and train.

LUCERNE

Over the years as a tour manager, i've escorted many tours to Lucerne, sometimes staying in the town of Lucerne itself and sometimes staying in one of the many villages that surround the Lake itself, such as Weggis, Vitznau or Brunnen.
I usually stay for around 5 to 7 days at Lake Lucerne, offering a different excursion each day. The Rigi-Kulm (1797m) is one such excursion, I take the group on the Mountain Railway and once at the top, the scenery and views are spectacular, the journey down is by Cable Car, again a great way to view the lake.

It really is “A PEOPLE THING”
