Shenzhen

I only ever travel to Shenzhen for the day, but it really is a great day out. I was lucky enough to be able to put the tour together myself. I listened to what the holiday makers wanted and decided that I would make it happen. To make a good day out great, I didn’t want to start too early, so decided that 10.00am would be ideal, this meant that we wouldn’t get mixed up with all the regular commuters. So we take the train, 1st class, and travel to the Hong Kong / Chinese border, once all formalities are completed, its off to the city centre for some free time and shopping, the ladies in the group like to have either a foot massage or a manicure at one of the many small clinics, whilst the men seem to enjoy having ¾ to 1 hour on their own. After a couple of hours to take in the town, we join a coach and travel to the outskirts of the city, where we visit the cultural centre, here we enjoy a Chinese Theatre presentation, I’ve seen it over 25 times and still enjoy the colours of the costumes, lights and sounds, and the special effects. With everybody talking about how much they have enjoyed the show, even some that were unsure, we all head for the restaurant and enjoy an 8 course dinner. Afterward dinner the group enjoys some free time to shop and sightsee and then we meet up and go to see a Chinese carnival, again, it’s a spectacular sight, light and sound show. Once the show is over everybody gets the chance to meet some of the showmen, and girls, of the carnival and you can have your photo taken with them.
After what is a great day, and having seen, and done, so much, we rejoin our coach and return to the train station for our 1st class journey back to Hong Kong and our hotel.

It really is “A PEOPLE THING”
