Inverness is situated at the mouth of the river Inver and is a nice place to while away 2 or 3 hours shopping and sightseeing in the town. 

Just south of Inverness is Loch Ness, the World Famous Loch. 

Whenever I'm taking groups along the Loch I always wonder if we will get to see “Nessie” the Elusive Monster! There are 3 or 4 “Nessie” visitor centres in Drumnadrochit, where you can learn all about the mystery of the Loch. 

Another place I stop at, is Urquart Castle, set on the side of the Loch and was used for the films “Private life of Sherlock Holmes” (1970) and “Loch Ness” in 1996.
