Famous the world over, for its Whisky. Edinburgh is the Capitol of Scotland and is famous for its Military Tattoo. The Castle area is a great place to visit, with its smaller shops. My favorite place to visit in Scotland is Oban, it is such a great location, from here you can get to the Island of Mull by boat, drive to the Island of Seil, theres even a "Bridge Over the Atlantic".
