San Francisco is just how you expect it to be, steep hills and Trolley Cars, known as Cable Cars, each time I’ve been, I’ve stayed at the Hilton Hotel which is great for being central. The sights that we visit include the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf, with its colony of sea lions.
The groups all enjoy the sights of the city, but I think the highlight is the tour of Alcatraz, you wear headphones as you walk around, it’s a great experience, you really think the inmates are calling out to you or talking amongst themselves in their cells.The boat ride there and back gives great views of the city, and the camera’s are going ten to the dozen as everyone tries for that number one picture. Once back at San Francisco, we usually have a coffee and then ride back to the hotel on one of the Famous Trolley cars, I don’t know why but I usually get the outside option, hanging onto the side.
During our stay here the group normally have a tour to the Napa Valley, by Train; they tell me it’s a great day out, me, I go to the airport to meet another tour group, so always miss out on that tour, maybe next time though…….
