New Year in New York.
On the 31st December, many of the streets that surround Times Square start to close around 4pm, and people start making their way into the area to get the best vantage points.
The bars with views of Times Square are the most popular, as alcohol, is not allowed within the cordoned off area, the atmosphere starts to build up as more and more people arrive.
The Main focus for New Year celebrations is Times Square with the dropping of the “Ball” at midnight, by a well known celebrity, and as the night wears on, party goers move onto the clubs that will see dancing until dawn.
For a view of the fireworks that are set off at midnight over Manhattan, then other members of the tour, take to the water on board the World Yacht, the food on board is fantastic, and with drinks included, the New Year is seen in, in true style.
New York City looks great at this time of the year, with lots to see and do, such as helicopter flights over Central Park, ice skating at the Rockefeller Centre and seeing the Famous Rockefeller Centre Christmas Tree, and of course the New Year sales in stores such as Macy’s, Tiffany’s and Sak’s, which all have fantastic window displays.
