Christmas in Lake Garda
I have spent Christmas in Lake Garda on a number of occasions, staying mainly in the resort of Riva del Garda.
The town is at the north end of the lake and is sheltered by the mountains. The Grand Hotel Liberty, with its indoor pool and health spa, is a hotel that makes Christmas even more special, and one that i have stayed in a number of times.
During the stay, I organise excursions for the holiday makers to Venice, Verona and a short tour of the lake by coach, on Christmas morning I usually manage to arrange a boat charter for my guests on the Lake with the boat charter company "Speedy", they take in the sights of part of the lake with a stop at the small but special village of Limone, after coffee or an alcoholic drink, its back to the hotel for Christmas Lunch.
Christmas afternoon is spent by the guests, relaxing after the 5 course lunch that lasts around 3 hours!, or by taking a relaxing massage and swim.
Christmas in Lake Garda is a great place to be, with the sun normally shining during the day, snow capped mountains, where skiing is available and the chance to enjoy an Italian Christmas.
