France
France has a long a rich heritage that includes a long line of Kings and Queens. Tourists to France enjoy its wealth of historic places, the Chateau’s of Versailles and Fontainebleau, the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and other tourist attraction such as the Eiffel Tower, Monet’s Water Garden and Disneyland.
Other places to visit are Cannes, St Tropez, The Loire Valley, Biarritz and of course Paris.
So enjoy my views on France and see what many of my group’s and myself have seen over the last 18 years.

Paris
Paris is a fascinating city, many of the tour group’s find that things to do and see are almost endless. During our time in Paris we will take a city tour, this takes in many of the major sights, and gives the individuals the opportunity to decide whether they would like to return and see them again at their own pace.
Paris is one of the worlds best loved city’s, with the river seine weaving its way through the city, its great to get on one of the Glass Topped boats and enjoy the sights of the city and its fantastic bridges at a slower pace.
Some of the most famous landmarks are even more impressive at night, some may say it makes Paris, romantic, the Champs Elysees, and Arc De Triomphe, Concorde Square, famous for important historical events, including the execution of Louis XV1, the Eiffel Tower the most famous landmark in Paris and Notre Dame Cathedral, are, in my opinion, better when they are lit up.
Disneyland Paris
My first experience of Disneyland Paris was in its building stage, I would take tour groups to its exhibition centre to see how it would look when it opened. On other occasions I would just point out the construction works as we passed the site on the motorway on route to Reims.
When it opened, only a select number of tour operators had tours to it, after a very short time, Euro Disney as it was known, started to lose money.
Euro Disney opened the market to all tour companies and it wasn’t long before I was taking holiday makers up to 3 times a week.
Even now some 15 years after opening, its still a popular short break destination. The on site hotels, Santa Fe, Cheyenne, Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay Club, New York and the resorts flagship Disneyland Hotel, offer a selection of rooms to suit all tastes, from budget to 5* luxury.
Since my first visits to Euro Disney, the resort has had a name change to Disneyland Resort Paris and has added the Disney Studios as another attraction to visit. I’m sure Disney will add more and more attractions and rides over the next 15 years, so maybe I’ll see you and Mickey there next time.

St Paul de Vence
This is another fantastic place to visit whilst you are on the French Riveira, it’s situated up in the hills of Provence and I usually include it with a visit to Cannes or Nice. If the weather is hot, as it normally is in the summer months, it’s great to get away from the coast and climb into the hills. As you make your way past the Café de la Place and bowling alley (French Boules), you enter through the city walls via the Royal Gate, you are immediately taken in by the layout of the small shops and as it’s an artists village, most are selling art and local crafted goods from the area.
St Paul was declared a Royal Town in 1418, by the King of Naples, who was also the Count of Provence. I really enjoy the maze of narrow streets, which give protection from the wind and sun. Maybe enjoy a coffee at one of the many coffee shops or browse for something to take home with you to remind yourself of this typical French village. One thing I would say about a visit to this village is, Don’t forget your camera!.

NICE
This is one of France’s greatest resorts. It’s the Capitol of the Riviera and a byword for glamour and sophistication. During the stay, take a stroll along the Promenade de Anglais, with its great hotels, bars and cafes. The shopping here is first class. I personally like the old part of Nice with its daily flower market and seafood restaurants.
It really is “A PEOPLE THING”
