Fort William

This is another of my favorite Scottish destinations, with so much to see and do in the local area.
Fort William lies at the foot of Ben Nevis, Britains Highest Mountain, 1344, you can take one of the mountain Gondola's up the Nevis Range, where you get views from the observation desk across the mountains. During the winter months, skiers flock to the area, and in the summer, walkers enjoy the mountain walks, however, the weather changes fast, and many get caught out, so the mountain rescue teams are kept busy.
When we are out and about, we always have a photo stop at the WW11 Commando Memorial, just outside Fort William.
Another tour our holiday makers enjoy is the journey from Fort William to Mallaig, by train. The “Jacobite Express”, is not very fast but the scenery is impressive, this train and the bridge were used in the Harry Potter Film.

It really is “A PEOPLE THING”
