When we visit Dartmoor, it really does feel like the middle of nowhere. Covering 368 acres of moorland it’s been a national park since 1951. The scenery is breathtaking whatever the time of year, but autumn has to have themost colour.
During our visit to Dartmoor the views are what we have come for and with trickling streams coming down the slopes amongst the heather and flowers, we are not disappointed.
When it comes to where to stop for a break I like to take my tour group’s to the prisonfor a cup of tea and have always managed to bring them all out again.
Exeter
A Roman city, Exeter is the historical capital of Southwest England. Most of the old city was destroyed during WWII.
The Cathedral has been rebuilt many times its most notable feature is its twin Norman towers. Inside the cathedral are thebishop's throne, the minstrels' gallery and the cathedral library where the Exeter Book containing Anglo-Saxon poetryis kept. Also worth seeing are the fifteenth century Exeter Guildhall, Rougemont Castle and Gardens, Cathedral Green and the Museum of Costume.
The Quayside is another place to visit with antique shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
It really is “A PEOPLE THING”
